Know the True Cost of Every 3D Print

Take the guesswork out of 3D printing. Our cost calculator helps makers, entrepreneurs, and businesses uncover the real expenses - filament, resin, power, labor, and maintenance - so you can plan smarter and print with confidence.

Basic information(required)

Provide the basic details for your print: choose your preferred currency, set the print duration. This helps calculate accurate costs, including any profit margin added on top of the total.

Enter your desired profit margin (%). The margin is calculated based on the total of all costs-filament, electricity, maintenance, labor and determines how much profit is added on top of the base cost. This will not include items under "Other", these costs will be added after the calculation with the margin.

Filament(required)

Enter details about the filament you’re using - its type, the price of the full spool, the spool's total weight, and enter how much filament was used. These values are used to calculate material cost per print.

Part(s)(optional)

List any extra parts used (e.g., magnets, screws). Include the name, quantity, price, and desired margin. These items will be added to the total cost of the print.

The margin is calculated on the total of price * quantity.

Labor(optional)

Enter your hourly labor rate and time of manual labor. This helps estimate the total cost of hands-on work for the print, including setup and post-processing.

HH:mm
/ h

Power consumption(optional)

Enter printer power consumption and electricity cost. This helps estimate the total energy cost of the 3D print based on runtime and local rates.

W
/ kWh

Maintenance(optional)

Enter fixed maintenance cost and maintenance period. This helps estimate long-term upkeep based on usage and scheduled service intervals. The period is the amounts of hours between each maintenance and should be a fixed number.

h

Other(optional)

Enter estimated filament loss (“printer poop”) and/or waste (supports, etc...). This covers material wasted during color changes , purging, supports, etc..., which contributes to the total filament cost. Further you can add a shipping cost to the calculation which is a flat fee.
